We had a “mini” destination (PA wedding when most family is in NY)
We did a cocktail style casual party at a pub/tavern restaurant. Beer/wine and finger foods so that we could invite all of our guests since so many people were traveling. It was actually so much fun and our guests loved being included!
Also good for my husband and I because we got “small talk” out of the way so we didn’t need to do that on the wedding day itself
I think it was $30-$40 per person if this is helpful. It was held in a private room at a casual pub restaurant
No rehearsal for us. Just an impromptu reception at one of the hotels we’ve selected for out of town guests. Nothing seated/plated. Just passed hors-d’oeuvre and drinks.
We found a small family style restaurant that only seats the number of people we planned to invite so managed to rent out the whole place.
Doing ours at a restaurant with a private room-had to reach out to a couple different places before we found one
restaurant with a private room
Venue with catering. It’s a fortune and I don’t recommend! I’d suggest a private room at a restaurant. We kept getting quoted $40-60k to have a full restaurant (which we needed for the size of the dinner) and tbh that would’ve been cheaper than the venue and catering
We’re having a rehearsal lunch in a semi private loft for bridal party/immediate family. Then we’re having a welcome happy hour at a beer garden after for people to stop by if they want
