Yeah, was first denied for Sapphire and then approved a few months later. Best way to apply is once you get an envelope in the mail. It makes a big difference.
D5, even as an authorized user under their card? Completely setting myself up to be torn apart here.
PWC2, It doesn't apply to your credit history or score
Was in the same situation back in the dark ages. My first card they gave me a $250 limit, raised it to $400 when I complained. An Amex charge card is more reasonable (they don't post limits, but will give you $5-$10k to start). I would just say get you own couple cards (fee-free except maybe your primary) and make sure to pay them off every month so you start building credit. The amount you spend on them isn't really important.
