I say go weird high. Nothing makes sense in pharma world. What’s your Wario-world Nether realm salary? Or, picture yourself on the toilet, crying, with a loaded handgun in your mouth...what number makes you put it down, and happily get ready for work
Lol C1, i dont know who you, but i love you.
Easy. Double of what are you making now. So you go there, work for 6 months and then you quit. You just gave yourself a 6 month vacation. And then you go back to a decent place.
Sounds like Copywriter1 hasn't worked in healthcare a day in their life.
Sounds like AD1 is a) wrong and b) taking things a leeeeetle too seriously. Which can be an excellent trait of an Account Director. So I appreciate you
@CW1 that’s sound advice 😂
@AD1 I said taking things seriously was the admirable trait, which was me trying to compliment you and move on. Unfortunately not reading things closely, jumping to conclusions and going on the offensive (I am that funny, btw) are not good traits to have, if we’re keeping score. But I still appreciate you. You’re just trying to help.
@RGA1 ❤️❤️❤️

Yeah, I'm kinda with Havas1 and definitely with Havas2! You're not going to command some extra special salary for going to pharma as UX. If you were account/strategy or definitely copy, that's different. Besides, 150-170K is a perfectly nice director salary, it's not like you're making peanuts. Good luck!
I hope it’s not AstraZeneca. 🤮
Copy1, I'd be very worried if being wrong is something that's considered an excellent trait for anyone, especially account. Just saying, you're not THAT funny and you also happen to not be knowledgeable about pharma ("nothing makes sense"?).
Back to the topic - OP, I'd say nothing less than $150K. Don't know where you are. But you should be able to look up that info and I don't think it makes a meaningful difference whether in pharma or cpg shop for that area.
UX Pharma work is just like any other agency, you have to battle with Creatives to get your work to stay intact. The worst part is just like any regulated category, the lengthy disclaimers and industry jargon you need to learn. Especially in regards to certain medical conditions which means working with medical SMEs to understand at times complex messaging while not promising miracle cures
The problem with being a UX Director at a Pharma focused agency is long term longevity. The work rarely requires heavy UX lifting. Pharma agencies talk about “experience” a lot in the context of customer engagement but it’s not a boxed and arrows situation. Just something to consider. I think somewhere in the 150-175 range is a good salary for this position. Anything north of that you should jump at IMHO
boxes 🤪
