Currently a tech consultant, but I want to develop more strategy/quant skills and eventually exit (hopefully to a hedge fund). What books/skills/habits do you suggest I start?

Can you tell me what is tech consultant ?
In other words, what do you do daily

like

I'm new, but I'm working in an emerging tech team, 50/50 producing thought leadership and leveraging industry expertise for both clients and internal initiatives. I'm somewhat technical (I understand the concepts and can talk the talk), but am not a super strong coder. I've learned some finance from friends and my last job, but not enough to feel confident, if that makes sense

I don’t like recommending it, but an MBA to pivot might be a great fit.
Otherwise quantopian has some resources that might help you out. Reddit algotrading I think has a reading list. Learning python and r for the data analysis side can help you with backtesting

Beef up your strategy/quant skills

I currently work in Private (GA) Aviation & have for some time (about 12 years) I’m currently making the switch to the Department of Aviation and am unsure if I should ditch my current job (in private) and go full force with the DOA & embrace this new opportunity educationally and gather as much experience as I can or keep both jobs even though I’d be working 80hr weeks.. I love the private world but am really ready to move up. I don’t know what I should do. Any suggestions?

I’v been in digital marketing for almost 5 years. I want to switch to marketing operations or research, because I find I’m better at and more interested in market research, audience research than keyword research or writing ad copies. I understand I don’t have enough direct experience and platform experience, like Nielsen.

So, I've realised there's a problem with developers, a lot of them are coders, not engineers. And another issue, is that, companies don't really care about their progression as far as I'm aware, so what did you guys do in your own time to transition from being a coder to an engineer?
