Currently, part of the implementation team. But I was told to involve in audit related work. My background heavily on strategy and implementations. The audit work would not be great fit for me.
What’s the best way to refuse this role ?

No advice but you’re right to not want to do this. Imo putting “audit” in your title will hurt your career significantly so even if they force you to do some work, don’t let them try to usher you into an audit role in any formal capacity - former auditor.

Just do it. No one gets to do what they want. I’ve been stuck on a project for almost a year I hate and doesn’t fit with my skillset. I get rolled off this week and even though I hated it I learned things and probably made a better case to be promoted.

You never know what you’ll learn.

I hear you and there are times you should push back on being forced to get on a project. I just did that with my deployment team. But if this person is in the consulting line then I don’t think it’ll be an issue because he’s still a consultant, not an auditor would be in the auditing line.

Then again what do I know, i never did auditing in my life and drk what it is

If you’re on the bench, you have no choice, the audit work will give you billable hours until another project comes up.

Hi Everyone,
Currently I am looking to make a career change into the real estate industry, specifically commercial real estate. However, LinkedIn messages have failed to successfully get me an interview to talk with someone from this field. Does anyone have experience/insight on how I could better make connections with people in this field?

Hey Friends, need help!! I am a developer with 1.6 YoE, got placed on-campus (NIT), can code well in Java and Python, but want to move into an analyst type role as I am not sure if I can be a good 'developer'.
Is it an ideal move for a long career, or if I want to do an MBA in future?
If so, could you please suggest how to prepare for such roles in good companies?
I feel a little lost with a lot of self doubt, and possibly need some counselling on this too. Suggestions are welcome.

A friend is considering deferring an offer (stem PhD) for 1 year straight out of undergrad to work in NY, either in a research institution or a biotech. She does not have any real work experience outside of her lab (3 years) and an adjacent internship. Another factor is she is just generally feeling burnt out on school after the last few years.
To what extent did you find that a year or two of work impacts prospects coming out of PhD? How might a year off from school impact her PhD work itself?

I’m curious. What would you say is the best industry / sector for…1. WLB, 2. Great people / team, 3. Exit opp’s., and 4. Overall (mix of the above). Goes without saying the obvious “it depends on office, team, project, client, etc.” So this is an ask for general observations.

Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

Hi guys, After CAF completion by last week, yesterday I received a call from the HR for the second round of evaluation. So, I attended it yesterday and performed well by answering 90-95% of the questions. Even the interviewer gave good comments on my performance. But suddenly today I received an email that my candidature isn't suitable for the role and they're keeping my profile in the database. Does this mean they'll call me if there are openings with some other project?

I’m currently in the process of being converted from contractor to permanent. In my initial conversations I was under the impression that I was in a different pay grade and asked for a salary 25k higher than the max allotted for my position. I feel like it gave the impression that I don’t know what I’m doing. Any suggestion how I can recover from this?
