D recruiter said I can’t take another interview with them for a year if I don’t join. I really like Booz now but also open to D. should I take interview and see offer? Stuck tbh.

Take it!! Take it and run!! And then come back and get me!!

funnylike

How many times have you interviewed? If you like where you are at, why are you looking at all? Why do you think you would be stuck if you stayed? For me the only reason to leap is when you aren’t growing, have no opportunity to move up and career has flatlined!

like

Just go for it. If you like what you find then you take the offer. If you don't, use the offer to try to get more money from Booz and then try again in a year. It's really not that long to wait.

Trust me, Deloitte recruiters will always find you again and do not hold it against you when you've turned down another offer in the past.

like

That sounds like fake pressure

like

B1- agreed! im not looking. but i wouldn’t want to give up an opportunity that could be more rewarding. hard to draw the line between ambition and selfishness

like

Ambition is being selfish. So I wouldn’t make a conclusion based on this. If you see the opps and growth at D vs. Booz, then go for it. See if you can speak with a few peers on the D team perhaps here on FB, and you might draw conclusions if it’s HR inflations vs. Ground reality

like

D>Booz, but realize you’ll be paid more (usually quite a bit more), but expect an additional 10-20% of hours

like

I have never heard of that policy. And, I think I know people for whom that is most definitely not true. (That is, interviewed, didn’t take the offer, re-interviewed.)

like

Wow thanks for the insight everyone!!

like

Deloitte is buying projects by underbidding and buying staff with salary increases that are not sustainable in their low price bid strategy. House of cards from what I can tell.

like

BA7 where are you seeing the big D do that?

like

Wait, they are saying you can't interview at all again even before giving an offer?

A1- they said once u take the interview, u can’t for another year if u don’t join.

Thanks m1!

Always go with who pays the most.

That ‘rule’ sounds very suspect.

It will be good for your resume. You should take it and hold out for a year if possible. You will also learn a lot

I'm trying to frame my answer to the leadership question. I once talked to my mom about how I was selected as CEO in a group project. It was because of my strong technical skills+connections(I already know 80% of the group)+activeness. My mom said that's exactly what she values in the professional setting. Can I answer the question in this way during interviews? I feel like it's not the common approach since this answer does not involve any specific actions, but could potentially stand out.
