Did this and never looked back. When I see people hanging around these firms that abuse them, I wonder what blackmail they've got on them.

Accounting firms should not be allowed to audit public companies if they are owned by PE. Govt and pcaob shouldn’t allow this crap.

Then the new firm does the exact same thing because they are trying to lower the average hourly rate for the associate level work to be able to stay competitive with their peer CPA firms.

I did that when I was a senior. I ended up finding somewhere to stay. I hope you find somewhere you don’t mind sticking around.

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. I’m torn because the opportunity is great but the stress was awful. Continued in comments…

So I just came out at my small firm in a small southern town. Historically, I haven’t discussed my personal life at work— but I had to give notice anyway. I told the partners I’m moving to be with my boyfriend. It was a surprisingly lovely conversation given that I’m at a firm of rich old men, deep in the heart of Tr*mp country.

I am looking for the post made by the junior associate with the voicemail from the female partner on a Friday night telling her how stupid she is. Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

What can a junior associate do about a mid-level that constantly asks questions about things they were cc’d on, sends dozens of piecemeal emails and is generally just super high strung and needs everything right away?? No other mid-levels I’ve worked with act this way and this individual I’m working with is driving me insane and I’ve spent countless hours attaching emails and saying “as explained in the attached email…”
