Yes! If you don’t get an MBA you will be laughed at and then fired!
So was mine :) can’t take the heat huh?
Pro
You definitely don’t “need” one. Up to a certain point it may help accelerate your career/earnings, possibly also help pivot into a different type of consulting, but you can progress perfectly fine without one.
A top MBA is unlike other schooling you may have done. It’s fun. Depending on the school your marks won’t matter and you’ll graduate making 2x more.
Happy to discuss.
No
If you’re in consulting and not looking to pivot significantly there isn’t a ton of value compared to doubling down on your day job and progressing through the ranks quickly.

Damn someone is a lonely, bored, and likely depressed individual to be throwing all the 😆.
You okay buddy?

I know people with only high school degrees that have done well
Not sarcasm. I know several senior managers and directors with high school degrees only. They back it up with decades of industry experience and c level contacts.

At Accenture- No
If you want to go to MBB - Yes (generally)
No, made Senior Manager at 29 without an MBA, and I didn’t even go to a target school.
For some people, they can only learn concepts going down the academic path. Other people learn more by doing and self-educating themselves. An MBA also gives you the benefit of learning in a low risk environment. If you get a C in a class, you have to retake it. If you consistently bomb on your projects at work, you don’t get a “re-do,” you get fired.
Do you need it? No. Can it help you tremendously? Yes. At the end of the day, it comes down to what your objectives are.
Pro
It used to carry more weight as a golden ticket, but I think has lost some of its prestige
Most people go to pivot- MBB/Tier 2 Strategy Consulting, big tech, IBD at a BB or buy-side FO, or start their own company
If you land any of the above jobs you do not need to worry about debt
Look at your post b-school comp trajectory and create a model and I bet you”ll find you”ll come out way ahead
Apart from that, don’t forget to mention you are literally 2 years away from work with like minded ambitious people so it’s a lot of fun from the social aspect too and will lead to a strong network for down the road for a job or funding if you are trying to start something
Best of luck OP on what comes next!

Broadly, beyond just consulting, MBAs have very much lost their shine.
