Do major consulting firms (ex. MBB, Big 4, Accenture, Kearney, OW, etc.) have strong supply chain presence and experience? What are the best firms and/or geographies with strong supply chain thought leadership and meaningful experiences to develop breadth in the field?

Deloitte in my experience is the strongest of the Big4 followed by Accenture and traditionally IBM.

I have generally been unimpressed with McKinsey, BCG, Bain or most others here. To be strong in the end-to-end supply chain means knowing supply chain technology, implementation, and execution. You need to have actually got your hands a little bit dirty at one point or another.

In distribution its Fortna and Tompkins and both OW and ATK have solid practices in purchasing and planning/forecasting.

A&M CPI has a strong SCM unit that competes with MBB and Alix

Does this mean that MBB and Alix are gold standard for SCM or does A&M CPI have a strong SCM unit that excels the way MBB excel in strategy?

Our practice is very large and growing. One of the top growth drivers for the firm. I think it took clients a while to understand/is a recent realization they can get huge value out of SC work and paying the strategy firm rates made sense for the return we can deliver.

And I have a lot of K1’s former clients :)

like

What type of work are you guys doing at MBB in this sector?

Yes. Kpmg, Deloitte, EY. McKinsey, A&M and Accenture all reputable SC practices.

like

What do supply chain engagements look like at these firms?

ACN has huge growth targets for Supply Chaim this year. I think we are ranked top 4 for supply chain consulting. A lot of the consultants are based in Chicago or TX, decent amount of opportunities in the Northeast. Message me if you want more details!

Interested in working in PE, but experiences align more with the Ops side (3 YOE in strategic value creation). Is there a significant difference in total comp potential between ops and investments roles? Not sure how to make a case to break into investments with minimal DD experience, so thinking about Ops recruitment (Associate). Would also be grateful to learn about potential strategies non-DD focused consultants have used to ultimately break into investment teams.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Especially interested in the SM level and above. I’d prefer staying at Big 4 and avoid the supplier side.
