Not a social worker but no, I don't. I believe that when we die we die, and therefore living is the most important goal we have. Living a solid and fulfilling life can of course include spirituality, but it isn't a requirement.
Very interesting perspective. Thank you for sharing.
I absolutely believe in a higher power. Life and death lies in the power our tongue. Think of the words and thoughts you manifested to become who you are today. We speak those things into existence. At least that’s my story. I always wanted
To be a therapist and I spoke that into existence with my faith. I wouldn’t say what you believe is “bad”. To each it’s own. I can go on and on on what I manifested (prayed) for not only for me but my family, friends, health etc. Positive thoughts and negative thoughts are manifested this is why mindfulness is powerful.
I do believe in manifestations, self-fulfilling prophecies and how this can affect the way your psyche operates in such a way that you tend to lean more towards that behavior. So there is still some science behind it.
I don't judge anyone who believes it. But I cannot for the life of me bring myself to believe in celestial things devoid of science. It's just a personal thing to me
If you put your faith in science; and the natural world, the laws of nature, well, just consider that the Supernatural is the natural only more so. Supernatural guides the human nature in important ways. Supernatural takes the human nature and makes it uniquely qualified and adapted to its environment.
I really do believe in it. I believe that we should speak things into existence. I dont know what I believe as far as a higher power but I do believe in the overall power of the universe.
I do believe in manifestation. I often advise my clients o write things down that they want and practice affirming them every morning. It really helps with their confidence. I do believe in a higher power also. The way things fall into place cannot be by coincidence.
I don't your beliefs will impact how you perform in your job. You can still be empathetic, compassionate, and supportive.
Just curious OP or anyone who considers themselves an atheist, because you don't believe in a high power, what do you lean on as a source of faith when you're having a hard time?
