Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

People assume WFH means working 24/7
That’s a little xtreme
Set your boundaries and schedules. And allow only the rare occurrence counter to it

Yup!!! Wfh sounds great on paper but we are expected to be available a lot more often.
What’s a lunch hour?
Sad
Block out 4-6 hours on your calendar for work take meetings in the other 2-4 hours , leave out an hour or two between meetings, refuse non essential meetings or delegate at a point sanity will occur; still have days when things go mental but refusing meetings and being non immediate for anything that can wait , sets the right boundaries; use DND out of office messages to help, with why you are not available, if you deliver results these boundaries will not be viewed negatively. Just know who’s on an ego trip and who’s genuine and respond to the genuine
I think “meetings happening a few days later” is the point. We as managers need to be pushing back on PPMDs and clients so that we and our teams aren’t working every waking minute and feeling like we can’t get on top of stuff.

Why?
i had 35 meetings this week. people are overcompensating and its terrible
Literally had this happen to me Friday. A manager and senior manager sent some very unprofessional messages to me. I immediately took screenshots I contacted HR. Adding unnecessary stress isn’t helping anyone in the situation. I immediately requested to be off that engagement team.
This also sounds like just bad work culture in general to me. A previous company I worked for was more like that and it bugged me. I’ve since happily moved on.
Not every company is like that. My current company works with mostly everyone working from home. There are rules set so that no one gets meeting scheduled over their lunch hour and it’s regular practice for here for people to turn slack notifications off after certain hours etc..
Set boundaries. If your coworkers don’t respect you enough to recognize you’re not available 24/7, maybe you should look elsewhere 😬
Im so tired!!! Sorry, this week was horrible
wfh sounds like something that’d be fantastic in Europe!
