Hi Fishes, Sometime back I was interviewed for Technical Support Job role in my domain. T1 went well. T2, in my understanding was better only (not great like T1 but not blunder. I felt it was nice and i replied majority of questions). They released the feedback after 10 days with "Not Positive". I am not totally sure with feedback as I replied majority of questions correct. I am being bit curious with "Microsoft" tag. What can be the reason?
Discussion appreciated.

Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

Hello 🦈s,
Role: SAP ABAP
Current: 8 LPA
I am having offer from LTI for 10.5 Fixed & 1 Mouritech for 12 LPA Fixed.
I have also cleared PwC India interview & HR has told me that they can give me 10.5 as Fixed (Before 12 offer). I have not yet received the offer letter.
Now my question is will PwC consider this offer for the re-negotiation? Or will they not release the offer letter itself?
Also what should be my ask for a SAP ABAP Developer with experience of 3.3 Years?
Thanks in Advance 🙏

I've actually used it as an opportunity to have them show their screen and set it up in Excel. I'm less concerned with mental math and more concerned with how can they structure a problem.
I invited an interviewee to use Excel and screenshare if they wanted to and they thought I was crazy.
I like this approach. Do I care if they can do it in their head? Or do I care if they can get to the correct answer quickly with the tools that we’ll give them and expect them to use in their everyday work?

If I catch you using computer or calculator on our cases, which is not allowed, it’s an automatic turn down. I’ve caught two people this year (yes, both were told that calcs weren’t allowed at start of interview).
Be sure you know the guidelines and agree with your interviewer before doing anything which might violate interview terms.
@McK1 - It's the structure itself. You're hiring people who will be expected to use the full arsenal of tools at their disposal, of which a calculator and a notebook are the least of them, yet you want to structure an interview to confirm whether or not they can perform grade school math in public.
It's unrealistic and a relic of an era that has long since left us behind.
Yes, I understand that there is the school of thought that says that this is a good way of evaluating innate talent under pressure, but we're not calculating applied ballistics from a firebase here, we're building client deliverables from a conference room. It's artificial and serves only to build a facade of mystique around the interview process.
Maybe this plays well with campus hires telling stories around the Student Union but as a functional adult with a resume longer than 1 job, this makes no sense to me.
