Do you “like” or congratulate someone to their new job on LinkedIn that you fired from your team just prior? Nice / professional or macabre / rubbing it in?

Need to fill out my job duties starting way back as an intern and provide supervisor information. My supervisors all quit except for one and one of them was fired from the firm because of some reports through HR including mine. Should I reach out to this person? Also, how technical should your job description be?

My husband was unemployed (no-fault layoff) for several months and during that time we skipped a vacation (planned but not purchased) and put a lot of things on hold. Now he has a good job (cont.)

How do I phrase the new responsibilities I got after a round of layoffs on my LinkedIn profile. I’ve been doing the job of 2 other people in addition to mine since March with no promotion in sight (thanks to HR freeze) but not sure how to list them as they are really not what you’d expect someone with my job title to be doing and I got them this year vs doing them the entire time I’ve had this job title.

Update: Fired from $260k base job. Offer 1 is $285k total salary. Base comp is $214k with $71k as VC based upon quota being hit. Offer 2 is $242k total salary. Base comp is $210k with $32k as VC base

Hello 🐠- I had gotten laid off when my stem extension was due and then managed to find a job just in time to apply for the stem extension but USCIS just denied my application. I am not sure what to do at this point of time. Can I appeal? Or is this the end of the road for me in this country? Any advice would be appreciated to help extend my stay in the country and hopefully continue working here.

One issue with the work from home revolution will be the offshoring of jobs. I got laid off and my replacement will be from Mexico City. One time zone away and probably half my salary. It is what it is.

Can someone explain this sense of entitlement by the younger generation? When I hear the younger gen complaining that they aren't getting paid enough when they start at 70k which is more than some experienced hires.....I just don't understand.

I'm not a rich man, but is 250k a lot of money? Sure in some parts yes, but not in major cities. If u make that much on ur own, ur doing well. But it's not hard to make that with dual income. (Cont.)

Have you ever experienced a SM/M give negative feedback at because of something beyond your control, like you didn’t have bandwidth to support them 100% but supported hours as much as you could yet they held it against you. Or some anecdotal (non-performance) based review which your coach told you about? I don’t mean to sound paranoid but I do feel egos exist in our organization and during performance reviews exert “power”. Please offer views/stories if in support or contrary to this opinion.
