Honestly I would not even bother contacting them out of respect. After breaking up with someone you don’t congratulate them when they get into a new relationship

Firing someone is traumatic. Every single woman I’ve fired has cried. Exactly, why would I remind them of the awful event? Lay-off is only slightly less traumatic. Still a lot of anger usually.

I would congratulate them instead of a like. A like could be mistaken as a passive aggressive gesture

My first instinct was to like & congratulate - something I would routinely do with any of my contacts. They were fired by one of my managers after 4 months on the job. Just not a good fit. No hard feelings but tough because the person also moved quite far for the role and now moved back. I’m inclined to leave it alone. Removing them from my network also seems a strange move - who knows what the future holds?

Is the job better or worse than the job this person had with your firm? Did he/she likely receive a pay bump or take a cut?

Hello 🐠- I had gotten laid off when my stem extension was due and then managed to find a job just in time to apply for the stem extension but USCIS just denied my application. I am not sure what to do at this point of time. Can I appeal? Or is this the end of the road for me in this country? Any advice would be appreciated to help extend my stay in the country and hopefully continue working here.

One issue with the work from home revolution will be the offshoring of jobs. I got laid off and my replacement will be from Mexico City. One time zone away and probably half my salary. It is what it is.

I'm not a rich man, but is 250k a lot of money? Sure in some parts yes, but not in major cities. If u make that much on ur own, ur doing well. But it's not hard to make that with dual income. (Cont.)

Have you ever experienced a SM/M give negative feedback at because of something beyond your control, like you didn’t have bandwidth to support them 100% but supported hours as much as you could yet they held it against you. Or some anecdotal (non-performance) based review which your coach told you about? I don’t mean to sound paranoid but I do feel egos exist in our organization and during performance reviews exert “power”. Please offer views/stories if in support or contrary to this opinion.

Hey all can’t seem to shake this one off. I recommended a slight process change with my MBA consultant in this email. Then the leadership called saying “our company aren’t the right fit for you” and lashed out on me for 10 min straight of how I crossed the line, this was so offensive, and don’t I tell them what to do cuz they are the experts... maybe my tone could be softer? I really didn’t think this email was meant to be offensive as I was only proposing a minor change to the process...
