“Yeah, I’m taking a week off to get TFA from you.”

If it’s a trip I’m excited about, I may mention it. But I don’t feel any obligation to.
I don't share unless asked, and even then, do not give details. It is your time and you don't owe the details.
Wow you all sound like a friendly bunch of people.
Nope. I request it and that’s all.
What trend?

You know, the trend. Like calling people honey.
Never

It depends. I definitely don't feel obligated to.
Yes, normally but don’t feel obligated.
I tell my people just put the time off on my calendar. Don’t care why they are taking off. But if they are doing something fun or traveling I’d like to know so we can bs about it
Rarely. And never do I feel an actual obligation to share what I'm doing or to ask what others are doing with theirs.
never. it's never their business to know. if i do mention anything, im trying to be social
I usually say why I’m taking PTO, but I also couldn’t care less if my coworkers give no explanation - we are all entitled to take it regardless
For me, whether I share this information is dependent upon my relationship with my boss. My last boss relationship lasted over 5 years and we worked well together. He trusted me and I delivered. We had a small work group, so we got to know each other personally and willingly shared our PTO/vacation plans with each other often. Sometimes it would be brief and sometimes it would spin off into an interesting conversation about what we like to do on vacation, where we've been, etc. With other employers, I would be more brief and sometimes if it was just a day or two that I was taking off, we wouldn't discuss it at all.
