hi Recently I had an interview at Airbus for Technology analyst ii role. That was the final round but HR did not give me a number after my expectation and said that they would offer me as per company standard . can you tell me what is the pay scale at this position? this is for e2 level
I gave interview in Amazon and cleared all the rounds , then went on hold and still on hold due to hiring freeze in that departement. HR does respond and update me when reached out.
Interesting thing which happened here is iam cracking each every product based interviews now after my tough preparation for Amazon and getting higher packages than what Amazon would give. So whatever happens , happens for good. Cheers Amazon

Anyone at Microsoft willing to refer?
I just got an offer from Accenture Switzerland, Total Comp 170K with 140K base. I have 6YOE as IT consultant and 9YOE in total. I am just upset that they did not offer me a relocation package of 20k because the cost of living in Zurich for a family with 1 child is crazy! Should I insist for a sign on bonus before accepting the offer?
Anybody can refer me for Ansys?

A basic laptop for browsing, watching streaming, listening to music can be bought with really little effort. Get one and use it for your own stuff. You can use a subscription to google suite & drive / microsoft office/Onedrive for your documents and stuff you want to keep track.
Even just as a way to mentally separate when you are "on work" and not, having a separate device is definitely better.
Lol. I don’t even have a personal laptop. Don’t be like me. Buy one. I’ve worked in big tech, mid tech and no tech and never gotten into any trouble for using my laptop for personal things, but I guess I don’t do anything that might be “suspicious”.
Remember that they likely can view everything you do
I think ordering lunch is acceptable, but I’d say no to all else. Especially applying for other jobs lol. Hell, I used to get freaked out if my phone was on company Wi-Fi when I was in the office lol. I think stuff like streaming is fine, but I’d steer clear of any personal stuff (like using iMessage and my emails). That’s just the paranoia in me though.
looking at health benefits, youtube and browsing etsy/amazon... but no personal banking stuff. I've watched entire movies on YT--not my best moments.
Work issued laptop is for work. If you are comfortable with employer having access to your information, and you are not doing anything that violates company policy then go for it. I’m not that comfortable.
Also if you work on personal projects on your computer equipment they can claim ownership of your work. They may be able to claim it on your personal equipment if you were working on it clocked in during company time. Companies can do this in some states but is illegal in others. Please familiarize yourself with your company’s non-compete, data, and equipment policies as well as your state laws.
I literally do zoom interviews on my work laptop, in between slack messages with my manager
Personal laptop is in the same room, don’t feel like switching machines
No care
If you're on your own home network what can they realistically monitor? Wouldn't it be easy for folks to discover key loggers or programs that take screenshots?
VPN
I do everything, except navigate on social media like Instagram or Facebook
Depends on company policies. My wife’s company is really right about laptop usage so she only uses it for work purposes. I use my apple account on my work laptop as it helps with all the multiple 2fa’s I do in a day. But I still try not to use it much for personal use since it’s a work laptop still.
This. Our company policy actually states in writing that personal use is ok for shopping online, social media, email, etc. Essentially, just don't do anything stupid or illegal. They have better things to do than monitor what people are doing on work computers and care more about productivity. If you get your work done, they couldn't care less. If the policy stated otherwise, I'd follow whatever was in the policy.
I would strongly advise against using the company laptop for personal use. I'm not going to say I've never done it, but I try to make it minimal. You should absolutely have a separate computer for personal use.
- the company may track your activity, messages, or data. Even if they don't today, they might tomorrow
- the company could add additional IT controls on your work computer at any time, perhaps locking you out of the access you need
- the company could terminate your at any time, demanding the computer back, or even remote wiping it
- I am not a lawyer, but I feel it would be unwise to develop anything for personal benefit (side gig, intellectual property, interview take home assignment) on company property. That might make you legally vulnerable
I actually lost a job once. I was traveling and using my personal laptop from the hotel to do additional work (the company only provided desktops, not laptops). I connected to the company VPN, worked, then disconnected the VPN... Or thought I did. I wasn't aware that I hadn't disinfected the VPN, that my personal use was traveling over the company network and was susceptible to their monitoring. I was fired as a result.
Sure, you can use tools like personal VPNs to help protect your privacy, but it's generally not worth it. Have one computer for work and a separate computer for personal use. Traveling with two laptops is annoying, but better than losing your job.
I'd never sign into my personal apple ID on a work computer. Always assume they are watching everything and saving your info.
I'd use it to order lunch or do basic searches that won't affect anything if they see it, and absolutely apply for jobs on it as a power move.
It’s probably largely ok but don’t do anything on it you’d be embarrassed to have to explain. You know what I’m talking about.
I generally have always used my work computer for almost everything, with no real issues. I do try to be careful for anything related to applying to new jobs though.
How about your company phone? Any restrictions?
Depends on the laws in your country/locale. In some places they can fire you “at will” I guess, and cite use of laptop possibly as a reason.
I believe my company policy says things like no illegal activity on the laptop, no torrent client or illegal downloads etc, no file sharing type clients. They specifically don’t care if we watch Netflix or YouTube outside work hours.
I really do not think my company or most companies would track an employee down for ordering lunch or applying for a job, it seems pretty over the top. Especially considering it is not really abusive or damaging to the company property. The action of going to a website and clicking a few buttons / typing a few fields should, imo, not be considered some massive betrayal worth firing you over. It’s not like you signed on to work there for life in blood and can never ever leave. I think employers should be more understanding that people take new opportunities sometimes, and hope that maybe they can attract you to come back one day.
That being said, I understand they don’t want to enable you to leave, but ultimately, acting like that wouldn’t keep me interested in staying to be completely honest.
Yes it’s not that serious. Everything but applying for jobs and stuff like that, don’t be an idiot
No don’t do that. Stay far away from that
Yes to everything except iMessage, but it's company and team dependent. Our team openly talks about interviewing and exit opps.
I don’t use my work PC for anything personal. Ever. Everything is monitored, there’s no point in risking it. I’m assuming you do decently well, buy yourself a new laptop.
Chief
Ordering food would be fine. I’d NEVER log into my personal email or apply for jobs on a work machine. All of that info can be seen and tracked.
