Does anyone have advice on how a tech sales rep / account manager (10+ years exp.) could break into tech Product Management? Do you have to start with entry level roles? Are there best ways to leverage your sales & client facing experience to make the jump? Just for background, my sales role now has me interacting with PMs often and working extremely hands on with the product and clients. Any advice is appreciated!

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

So I recently interviewed for an associate PM role with my current company. I’ve been a store manager with them for 11 years. During the interviews, I felt like things were growing great and the feedback I got at the end was great. You’d think given my time knowing the product/ company for so long, that I’d be a great fit but I got rejected and haven’t gotten feedback probably will get ghosted. Should I shoot my shot and advocate for myself with the hiring manager either way?
