Does anyone have any advice for what fields PR skills can transfer well to? I've been in PR for about 5 years now, but mostly due to inertia and while I'm pretty good at my job it's not something I'm really passionate about. Over the last year or so the demands of my job have intensified and so has the feeling that I'm not doing anything that makes any tangible difference.

I made the switch to in house and omg it’s so slow. I knew it’d be a bit slower than agency but I accomplish less in a month than I used to in a day. Is this how all in house jobs are or has anyone found a faster pace in house gig?

Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition.
