Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

Hi Guys,
I have been assigned to a Unbillable Project, they are building one app and have recruited people from the talent pool. The project is not registered in GLOW. And they are calling it as Voluntary Contribution type project for studio. Is this what they call Internal Project in Globant?
Will there be any impact if I don't perform as per their expectations?
Will it be of any benefit to me if work in voluntary project? Will HR recognize this project contribution as valid work?

We have used it and it was the most customizable software that I have used. On the flip side, it's a bit pricey. They make you do a custom quote based on all the features that you need.
Thank you for the feedback! Does Rippling offer leave management as part of their services? I heard they don’t and it’s all manual.
I implemented Rippling last year coming off of a PEO with some org complexities. We hit some implementation snags but not more than I've hit with any other HRIS/HCM implementation. Rippling will assign you an implementation consultant who will truly be involved as much as you need them. The assigned consultant we had was very good.
I don't know Paycom other than it didn't make our finalist list for deep review. I've implemented ADP (different solutions 2 times), UltiPro (pre-UKG), and Workday (2 times), and also worked with Peoplesoft. I'm with a smaller company now so needed a SMB solution and found Rippling more configurable with the most user friendly interface vs ADP, who was our other finalist.
Rippling has leave management as part of their Time Off app which was changed from a standalone app in late 2023. It does let you build out event based leave policies which are connected to payroll. And, if you get unlimited or additional workflows you can build out automation (I opted not to do that for now for cost reasons). Rippling also talks quite a bit about their 360 integration with Tilt for leave management, so it seems that more companies go that route. DM me if you want more details.
Thank you so much for your reply. I am not able to see a way to DM you so I apologize for my follow up questions posted here. I am curious how many employees do you administer in Rippling and which background check company are you using? What system do you use for LMS?
It's a one-stop shop for sure. You can use it for virtually everything. The only downside for me is the customer service is lacking. It's not easy to get someone on the phone.
Rippling offers a lot, some features like leave management might not be as robust as what Paycom provides.
They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We have had 6 different reps within the 2 years I have been at my company.
In my demos, it looked like it could do pretty much everything. We didn't end up going with them, though, and ended up choosing BambooHR instead. Similar customizability, for a bit less, and no contract.
Hi, I have spoken to several (4) current customers of Rippling, while we were also evaluating a new system. The only references I was able to find in my network and through contacts of my network were from startups. We had Rippling fill out an RFP and they currently have 16K clients, in comparison to larger systems that have over 30K clients. They also are still a late-stage startup and were founded in 2016. There is a TechCrunch article from April 2024 that stated how they were in need of funding to meet payroll/overhead costs after the Signature Bank incident.
We were told by Rippling that they use Tilt for leave management. However, my impression is that Tilt is also a startup. Our benefits broker has not heard of Tilt. We were also told that you can set up rules/your leave policy in Rippling, so that the system tracks it. However, we want to have a TPA for liability purposes. I was also told by the references that you should definitely ask for discounts (even up to 50% off). They said Rippling would rather not lose you as a customer. All 4 references said that customer service is lacking. There is no phone number to call. Since they are a startup, no one is an SME and there is has been turnover w support staff. You will have a dedicated account manager (who is basically a sales person to upsell you on other product features) and a tech support specialist. However, all other customer questions need to be directed to the chat feature, which will at first throw you articles and videos related to what you are asking about. You will need to type in the chat “Speak to live support now.” To be able to get a zoom link to speak to a customer support rep who is not based in the US. I am guessing they are located in India (based on the TechCrunch article that states that research & development and customer support are based in India).
