Go to bed by 8 or 9
It is def boring going to bed that early but basically you are just sacrificing 2 hours of tv or gaming at night to have an extra 2 hours in the morning for a workout.
I have at times been that guy. It builds momentum when you are doing it, and then you want to keep doing it. It feels good, and skipping it feels bad. But when I’ve stopped (like I have for a few months now) that momentum is all gone and it’s the hardest thing in the world to find that motivation that was so easy to conjure when you were doing it every day or at least 3/4 days a week.
Every night before I go to bed I say to myself, tomorrow is when I get back on the horse.
I second this. To build that initial momentum, I try to use different tricks to hold myself externally accountable. After the first few weeks though, it becomes easier to maintain because I enjoy it for its own sake.
Waking up early to workout has meant 5 or 6 AM at different parts of my life. Now it means more like 6:30 or 7:00 - although I know this means that my work day will end later (I’m remote FYI).
Used to. Now I struggle with insomnia and poor sleep quality so it’s really hard to get up at 6:30am even if I’m in bed by 10pm.
Sounds like you need some regular exercise - it helps with sleep.
I do it. Wake up at 4:30am. Work out at 5am to 6:15am. I hit the sack around 10 - 10:30pm. Not for everyone and some days my body says not today. Not for everyone, but works for me. It does help i have a great group of workout friends ther the same time I am. Helps motivate me.
