Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?
Your work is based on task. I can spend all the sleeping and working at night. My partner cares i do take care of the client and the work is done on a timely basis + audit quality. I don’t need to be at the office everyday to do that
What’s questionable about that? You work in dreamland apparently... wherever tf that is.
Lol yes. I once had a Partner told me it’s important to slow down and reflect some days on what you’re doing to see the big picture.
I’m not sure it’s a lazy day but I’m less productive those days. I also only have time to do that in non-busy season periods so I think lazy days are good!!!
It’s the only way to survive PA lol
100% agree
Sounds like you should probably be taking PTO instead of "pretending to work". Idk about your firm's policies but this sounds a lot like timecard fraud to me. Sitting at home is not admin time.
Lol when my manager stops pressuring me to underbook my hours during busy season I’ll stop taking lazy days (it never happened and I don’t work in public anymore)
of course I do! and sometimes I work 15hours too. so it's a fair trade I reckon. It makes it perfectly balanced, like all things should be.
Slow ya role, Thanos.
Yes. Sometimes I work pretty late, then the next day i stay home. Hours net to what I need to work at the end of the week
Agree. We send almost all our vouching to India and we just work on what they were not able to do. Our workload is now manageable. This past busy season we were leaving everyday no later than 7 and never worked on a weekend.
Everyone has slow days, it’s the nature of being human
Yes and yes
Hell yeah! These days are earned and the BEST. Enjoy as they come far and few between, and don’t feel bad for taking advantage!
Yes
used to until I got fired for it (no I wasnt a bad employee, I had great reviews, pretty sure they just wanted to make an example so others would stop doing it)
Where did you work?
my entire office did it today lol
This is the exact reason why I am skeptical of random days working from home... I pretty much assume this is happening
@SA1 - I hear you on the deadlines. I should have specified I meant interns/lower level staff, who are working directly for an in-charge on a task by task basis, rather than having responsibility for full areas. I don’t care if it takes someone all day to do a task because it’s hard, but it’s not fair to stretch something out all day because you’re not working efficiently, and make your teammates pick up the slack.
I rarely get sick, so I use my sick days as mental health days or lazy days. I don't book hours when I'm not doing client work, so I use a sick day
I don’t feel the need to pretend to be busy. Most people (at least here) understand if you’re taking a slow day.
Also, I take a spa/mental health day at least once a quarter.
These day make me so much more productive upon return.
lol yup
