I doubt it, most EAs manage more than 1 PPMD. and they do a lot more than just manage their calendars-they help create slides for internal presentations, coordinate practice wide meetings, etc. I’d bet this is one of the few groups of people at the firm whose workload hasn’t changed too much because of COVID

Agree. As long as you are referring EA to Every/Each Associate(s)
EAs no but MBAs (Mercury Business Advisors) yes. They push half of their work back on the engagement teams so it’s no real need for most of them. Everything we have to do in Mercury is in a video or PDF instructions.

Agree on this-every time my team has anything around billing or financials that needs to be done for the project (beyond normal invoicing and ETCs), it’s like pulling teeth to get the MBA to help out. They seriously will just join a call for 30 mins and ramble about why they don’t want to help until we force their hand. They are basically useless
