Has anyone else ever dated a coworker?
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

Start looking for a new job asap. PIP just means they are collecting documentation to fire you without legal ramifications.
You got about 6-8 weeks. Start applying now!
I have seen mixed results. Those who really took the improvement points to heart and focused on them were able to be successful in the future. But, I have worked with a number of individuals who either refused to really accept the points for improvement and were subsequently terminated or where the improvement needs really were about the individual not being the right fit for the type of job. I would start looking for a job but I would also really seek to understand and meet the requirements of the PIP because if they are true issues with your performance the same things will pop up in your next job.
Look for new job - but do eveything you can to meat the terms of the PIP.
Even if you stick it out and beat the case it will always be looming over your head / in your employee history at your current firm - hard to rise back up
Agreed. Totally makes sense.

I saw a friend get out of it by switching to a project where they excelled. If you’re showing value that’s all the company cares about
But yeah start also fostering new opportunities. You have a two month grace period so use it
