Does LOA affect utilization?

I was curious what other firms have set as their utilization goals for their different positions?

Currently, everyone from staff to senior manager has a set goal of 90%.

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team.It’s really taken a toll on my confidence

Promoted to SSE with 25% hike and VP as 9% . I had received ACE award in Q3 . I have also maintained utilization report 100% still I got less VP. Can I ask manager to revisit the component

Any reservists out there? If so, how do you manage your utilization while also fulfilling your reserve duty? I’m an IMA, so weekend drills aren’t an option. (Cont)

I wish admin utilized Tier 1 supports with teachers. Smiles, appreciations and acknowledging ones efforts would do a great deal to boost morale and climate. I just don’t understand what that is so hard to do.

Senior Consultant: 90%

My partner got a City of Toronto offer. Salary band is 104-121k. HR asked for his expectations and he said 115k. HR came back with a 106k offer stating nobody on the team makes that much so they cant offer it. Also said she is unsure if there is any wiggle room if any at all. I’ve looked at everyone on the team with the same titles salary on the sunshine list and the lowest I see is 121k. I assume there is an OT component of some sort but also can’t confirm. Thoughts? /negotiating advice?

When you become a manager how do you get over the feeling of guilt of not being in the trenches with your team? You're no longer creating PowerPoints or spreadsheets - but instead reviewing them. And a large part of your job is just to talk all day, yet still be essentially responsible for everything.

I do sort of feel like at times that I'm leaving my team hanging cause I can't be in the weeds literally at all.

Listened to “Terminal Preppie” by the Dead Kennedys for the first time in a long time. Realized high school me would be aghast at how much present me matches the person they mock in the song. 🙁
