Management consultant evaluating an offer from Google’s Go-to-market team (Strategy & Operations) in India. Two questions:
1. Given it’s an internal consulting role, are the hours equally bad / worse than consulting firms?

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. Any thoughts around how to use M&A tax skills for the better good?
