Drug Safety Specialist/ Clinical Research Coordinator

Hello!!


I am currently working as a CRC ( May 2023) and I have around 5-6 years of experience in Drug Safety/ Pharmacovigilance.

I currently have two offers to consider clinical research Coordinator in Calgary or Drug Safety Specialist (Hybrid) in Toronto. I will have to relocate for both.
Pay scale is a little bit higher for Toronto but not much difference but rent there is way higher!

Please suggest which opportunity should I go for

Need help thinking through this…Debating leaving to a tech startup. Very early stage ($3-7M ARR), would have a big role leading strategy and Ops. It’s a cash paycut, which is a bummer but the equity would be pretty good. Just nervous about leaving before hitting the full manager role and taking a paycut in this market to bank on equity. For those of you have left, what kind of questions did you ask yourself to know it was the right time?

I previously worked at a doctors office as a care manager for 4 years, but outside of my academic work I don’t have experience in research. Currently working as a QC reviewer, and had lab analyst experience in Vaccine Science and Immunochemistry. Anybody have any experience, transitioning from a CRO to a Fed level science/ auditing related job?

I’ve worked in clinical research in the academic/non profit world for the past five years. I want to transition to a role in pharma or a CRO, but haven’t been successful yet because I don’t have industry experience. Hi. I have applied for a job in an academic setting for a leadership role in cancer research. Duties would have me responsible for a small team of research nurses as well as other managerial duties for the department. I have been a research nurse for 3 years now, but I have no experience applying for a salaried position or a role in leadership. What sort of salary would be appropriate to ask for? I’m looking to transition from an academic medical center to pharma or a biotech. I have about 8 years of clinical research experience overall — 7 years combined as a CRC (CRC I, CRC II, and senior CRC) and 1 year as a PM. I’m also recently ACRP-CP certified.

Has anyone taken the CCRP exam? Currently looking for test prep resources and there are very few. The exam book combo I found on Amazon has mixed reviews and I think the best way for me to prep is to see the questions and get comfortable with them.
