I’m not actively seeking a new job, but I was approached by Deloitte with an interesting opportunity, so I decided to go through with the interview process (which has really just been one informal coffee and one actual interview so far). I have a final “informal” discussion with the partner of the practice later this week.
The last time I went through a recruiting process was after undergrad, so I was obviously not looking for the same things back then. Any pointers on things or red flags I should look for, or specific questions I should ask?
The comp package will obviously play a role in my final decision, but I want to make sure I look at all signs to determine if this is the right opportunity for me.
A lot of this depends on what you are looking for in your next role, something triggered you to have the informal chat- i.e. leadership, small and new team vs. Large established practice which will then tie to your accounts/financial targets, change in function/sector.
But more than anything it just needs to feel right- not sure how to put this, gut feeling perhaps. At the end of it all, don’t forget Deloitte is an ocean- so if you land on the wrong team it isn’t the end of the world, there are numerous ways to network and wriggle out. Good luck.
The type of work, how strong is their reputation in that work, pipeline, connection I feel with the people (partners / key managers)
