Um, tell your psychiatrist. They've heard worse and it's relevant.
ok good to know! I’m newly diagnosed and trying something new and took a week to realize something was off.
Hard to get good help if you're not transparent and honest, need to get past that, this is what they're there for, and it's a common side effect they have experiencing navigating
As others have said, definitely tell your psychiatrist!
There’s two people you need to tell everything: your doctor and your lawyer.
Definitely bring it up with your psychiatrist but also, if you’re a woman, make sure you’re tracking your cycle and all associated symptoms too - libido is impacted by cycle but also the cycle itself is often impacted by meds!
Been there with several meds. Look at it like any other side effect, and share with your psychiatrist. It’s a super common side effect, and you should expect them to handle it as professionally as they would anyone else.
It is a common side effect and they will want to know. They can try a different dosage or different medication. It is all about getting the right fit for your whole self, not just your adhd.
That’s a nice reminder, thanks.
Wellbutrin
Why are you embarastto talk about with your psychiatrist? isn't that the one of the few people youd feel "appropriate" to?
You can just say “I’m having sexual side effects”. Your psychiatrist will know right away, and likely offer alternatives.
Zoloft and other ssri’s are effectively castrating.
Been there done that. They've heard it all if they're experienced. No one is going to truly advocate for your health, sexual or otherwise, other than you. Hell, not even better than you. It's always worth a chat, particularly since meds effect everyone differently.
Well your doctor is someone that know that your new meds are trial & error due to chemical balances. Also, your issue could be a known effect due to the new meds as well which could be a quick fix for the doctor to adjust and improve.
Best of luck bud!!
Thanks alllll for all your replies. Funny that this might not be an issue after all. My partner was away during that time period and he pointed out to me after since we reunited, it was not a problem 😆 sorry for my panic but hope at least this brings some awareness to me and others too 😅😇
