Not sure on your space situation, if limited you can get a tonal and a concept2 rower maybe.
Concept2 is really interesting
Honestly some good dumbbells or kettlebells will give you a *ton* of flexibility on what you want to do and don’t necessarily take up a ton of space. Barbell work is better for most things but I’ve always been really uncomfortable using them if I don’t have a proper rack.
You could also get a gym membership - a lot of the popular weight lifting routines(if that’s what you’re into) are 3 days a week and you typically can finish in an hour or a bit under. I sometimes have to split(ie second part of my Monday workout I do on my “rest” day) my workouts due to meetings or fires, whatever, and I still had outstanding results. Not like bodybuilder stuff but in ~6 months I had defined pecs, capped shoulders, defined/noticeable biceps and triceps, etc.
If you’re going to commit to a gym or even classes go a few times when you’ll likely be there and gauge the business. I had a seeming unicorn gym on my route home from work that was just so busy I didn’t want to go. Went a little off my path to a similar place and it was like a ghost town.
You could try getting a walking pad / standing desk
I think you should start with a low impact calorie burning workout. Get a stationary bike. It does not have to be a peloton…
A pull-up bar looks great but it’s so hard to do pull-ups.
Truth. I can only do one chin up right now so progress is gonna be slow (but I know from experience that's all it takes to work up to a set).
My rationalle was that I wanted something easy to pound off a rep or two while I'm on calls. For the same reason I'm also going to buy a couple cheap pushup stands (I can't do them on flat ground re:wrist issue)
Stationary bike is interesting - SO might like that too
get a set of adjustable dumbbells
