I had interviewed for an internship position at EY for technology consultant program for summer 2022 and got a call where they extended an offer. I wanted to know if I can defer the internship offer to fall 2022 or a later start date after summer.
I apologize as I cannot reply to a comment or DM on this platform to anyone, but thanks for your answers in advance.

Biggest con: it takes a LOT of training to become a developer. Don’t let boot camps fool you. Expect to struggle. Even if you’re a genius, it’s going to be difficult.
Something about this makes me worried... I don’t like that so many people are like “keep making mistakes until you figure it out...” that’s not how other engineering fields are pursued. You wouldn’t build a bridge, have it fall down on people, and then say I’ll learn from my mistakes. I don’t mean be a perfectionist, I mean get some real training. Then, it’s not so difficult (it’s not easy, but there will be a path at least).
Getting a promotion is never a bad thing. I’m curious how you are planning to make the switch - are you able to stay at your current firm? Do you have the skills needed for the switch? Is your current firm upskilling you?
Not 100% sure but I don’t think your promotion or your current role would have much impact on how much you bill out as an entry level dev
OP that’s cool! Good luck with the transition!
Maybe I should just double down on a language like Python, for data analysis and otherwise, and basically meet halfway between business/coding.
