Am I the only one who is happy I got into IT?
I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.
Any Advice?

Dude, as a second year SC 55% is not acceptable...
Maybe you can try to get on a big Post Merger Integration... I think some might let you bill actuals and there's a ton of work to get done so you might be able to bill 60 hour weeks.
I'll throw out that your counselor will need to go to bat for you, but as long as he can tel your story successfully I think you should be okay. You stayed busy and if your counselor can attest to your time spent and lack of projects available you should be okay. I wouldn't expect a killer rating or bonus though. Good luck man, and try not to let this impact your sleep.
SC, had great feedback/rating last year for promo
I think it is the industry, heard the same thing here as well, thought your firm is ok tho
See if you can get on a full time project and another project half time and bust your ass.
P1 - I've done that in my old job and asked managers/SMs around D if I can do this. Everyone kind of told me that it's not a thing, no one staffs PT. Has anyone had success getting a part time project at D? I have been actively helping on colleagues on with work on client work but they have me PRD codes, not billable
Do you have a project in the pipeline? Now is the hardest time to get staffed. What service line are you?
If this is your promo year I would start looking. They are not as understanding as you think. Pretty easy to use numbers to cut off.
Have you been unstaffed the entire year?? See if you can bill extra hours, take minimal vacations, and try to do a bunch of PRDs to strengthen your story
Level? Did you have a long stretch on the beach?
Got off a long term project and was unstaffed for 5 months. I did a lot of PRD work during that time and my counselor doesn't seem worried because "it was really slow and a lot of people are in the same boat" in our service line, but I'm feeling super uneasy about this. Can PRD really make up for not hitting utilization targets?
Oof, there is no way to avoid a hit with 5 mos. on the bench.
Change your counselor for sure!
OP, PT is totally a thing. I'm an Analyst FT (40-45 hrs. 3-4-5) on one project and supporting a second project for ~5-10 hours every week or so. Typically PT isn't glamorous- you're going to be supporting the more technical rather than functional needs, but hours are hours.
That being said, it sounds like you were just promoted and this isn't your promotion year. If you could get yourself to 60-65 and kill it on initiatives (with your SL leadership), you'll be fine. Maybe not a 1 or 2, but 3s get degrees
55% is definitely not acceptable as a 2nd year SC... Have you been billing your 5 months on the beach properly to all the specific charge codes or just GAA?
M&A due diligence type stuff for part time hours
