I don't take statements like that too seriously, it's become a thing where everyone has to act like they're enduring the holiday season instead of enjoying it. I've noticed that a lot of times the people who act like their work is so oppressive aren't exactly doing any heavy lifting.

I hear this a lot, but I disagree slightly. I see good people genuinely tired, not performatively struggling. When many say the same thing, it signals a capacity issue, not laziness. Dismissing it risks missing early burnout signs.
No really. I think people are excited about meeting their families.
There’s an atmosphere about Christmas season to be honest, I don’t know about where you are but where I am, once it’s December, the air already feels like Holiday. Everything reminds you of home and family. It’s not a bad thing that people get excited about the Holidays and the thought of reuniting with their loved ones. It doesn’t have any impact on Team support or anything like that. Like you put it, it’s a season something.

I get the seasonal excitement point, but I still think energy dips matter. Even happy anticipation can reduce focus.

Yeah I’ve heard that and not for the first time, I think a lot of the time it’s because they’re rushing to get everything done before the holidays to officially relax and shutoff especially if your company is closed over Christmas as then that’s the one time in the year where no one will bother you.
