Do you find yourself thinking about ways to improve your lessons as you experience life? I’m on vacation for the first time in 10 years and I keep asking myself “wow, what kind of technology is that?” And “How can I integrate that in my Computer Technology class?”

Will be leaving for a competitor (different consulting firm) soon and trying to figure out how to approach 2 weeks notice. I have several weeks of unused vacation still - will / can my firm force me to use my vacation time during my two week notice period? Will they give me any work, especially since I'm going to a competitor?

Does anyone else catch themselves using vacation time just to try to catch up on what seems to be an unending pile of work? #sucks

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. It’s been two weeks since and complete radio silence. I sent an email to a hiring manager a week ago but received no reply. It’s August so people could be on vacation but this is really strange. Has anyone had similar experience?

Mid level atty in a fast moving case. Earlier this year jrs brought on the team to help lessen work flow. Both partner and I delegate certain tasks, esp when we’re super busy. Junior goofed regarding deadlines (which I had to ask for twice); now partner is stressed, tho we should be able to lock in an extension. Jr took ownership of the slip up. Can anyone provide some insight on what it’s like to work in the legal department at a FAANG? Very curious to learn more about comp, WLB, types of matters, etc.

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.

I get asked for legal advice often from family / friends. When it’s something legitimate I often offer to help ( I have my own firm / practice) however when it’s BS I’m pulling the oh it’s not my practice area line…. How do you manage the line here?
