Ex big 4 manager, assurance. I took a year off from client services b/c the grind got to me. I’m thinking of pursuing a part time role like 20 hours a week, grinding out assurance or tax deliverables for a smaller firm from year-end May or so. Does anyone know if these types of roles are offered/in demand? I’ve been out of touch with the job market…

Just do contracting work and you’ll work seasonal and make bank

like

How do you make bank from that compare to being full time? Do they pay more to contractors? Do you know what are the differences besides having no insurance subsidized?

hit me up, i think i can help

Do firms let people do this if they have other jobs? I know several people who'd live to do this on top of their industry job

Contractor work pays really well and you can cash in on only working for 5-6 months if you wanted. If you’re cpa youre pretty much automatically hired. IThere’s a few staffing firms that do this. Google/LinkedIn/Reddit and you’ll find the answer

For startup founders/people with a successful side project: How did you get the idea/inspiration for your business? I’m currently working at a Series B startup and my end goal has always been to found my own startup, but I graduated from college 2.5 years ago and I still have not had any great ideas cross my mind. I do spend a fair amount of time brainstorming. I don’t want to continue working here forever, but I’m struggling to generate that “this is it” idea to build a company for. Any advice?

I’m looking for a new job, working remotely, that doesn’t require a Bachelor’s. (I’m currently going back to school to get one, as I only have an Associate’s in Mathematics right now)
I had positions in private sector that allowed me to supplement having a degree with experience but not in public sector. I’ve seen coworkers get positions they aren’t able to do simply because they have a degree and then leave a mess for me to clean up but I’m not allowed to have the position. Any suggestions?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?
