I’ve been offered a reporting consultant job for less than 60k and I bring 9+ years of experience to the role. They should be offering more. I don’t want to settle but I don’t want to miss an opportunity to move. Reporting consultants should start at $65k per recruiting sites. Any advice? How can I get HR/recruiters to offer more? TIA

I recently interviewed for a position I was excited about. I like my job but this position seemed like a great fit. I met with five different individuals including a partner. Everyone was extremely nice. I received positive signaling and found out almost a week later that I didn’t receive the position. I have absolutely no idea why. Is it typical for companies to make you go through so many different interviews only to reject you?

I’m my partners only associate and I went on parental leave two weeks ago. I feel horrible for leaving him to handle our cases alone, but am trying to focus on my wife and new baby. I spent a year in tax investigations where I believe I was thriving ( I was going to be an assistant manager in July 2023), I had a lot of assistant manager jobs, I even drafted a Code 9 report to HMRC which my manager said was 80% of an actual report, he then added the 20% and submitted it.
After I realised I couldn't maintain all the unpaid overtime I was working I decided to take a turn and go to compliance, so now I work in CT compliance. I feel very surpressed.
