D1- my current work at D is far from the mental health realm (Federal Strategy and Operations). As far as integrating this passion into my work at D, I see these options: 1. Federal client that works with mental health issues (NIH, Veterans Affairs, CDC, etc...), human capital practice (some parts deal with a lot of organizational behavior), becoming a Business Chemistry facilitator, getting involved in learning and wellness initiatives, mentoring co-workers about their lives and careers, and taking on a formal volunteer mentor role through an official firm initiative. OP, as far as what I am thinking/going back to school, this is a massive topic that I have been considering since undergrad and I am now 30. I always figured that it would be my retirement gig- get a MSW and sit around talking to people. I already have a masters and feel like I have established myself in this career. As of lately, I have been toying with the idea of maybe moving up this goal. If I do, this is what I am thinking: do a part-time masters program at a local state school for either a terminal degree or one that will provide a good foundation for either a PsyD or PhD. I've looked into it and I was surprised to see that some MSWs/MAs were charging the market rate for Phd/PsyD therapy sessions, which in my city is around $160/hour. As much as I would like the prestige of a PhD/PsyD, a MA/MSW could do the trick. If I go this route, I would want to go into private practice. How about you? Happy to connect via messaging or burner to discuss. I've never come across anyone else with this interest and I'd be happy to share my research and opinions with you. Why do you think you want to make this change?

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
