Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Best time to take PTO is after rolling off.
The longer I’m in consulting the more I realize you need to take your vacation when you want to take vacation for your sanity. If you’re good, you’ll be staffed even if you have to leave for a week
thinking no one will staff me again after knowing I’m leaving for PTO soon and will end up on the bench longer
Great idea - saves you from being on the “unstaffed list” and no pressure coming from your project while you’re away! Your changeability actually subtracts out PTO, so it doesn’t count against you.
What level are you? If you’ve been chargeable all year, three weeks (at worst) on the bench won’t be a big deal. But I don’t think it will be that big an issue. Schedule the PTO, but be up front about it to anyone trying to staff you. Chances are they won’t care (unless it’s a six week project and you’re gone for half).
Can you squeeze some training in between?
Someone rolled of project, took 5 weeks of pto🙄recently promoted SA level
A3... you guys deduct pto from utilization targets?
We don’t deduct PTO from chargeability! Doesn’t affect at all
M1 - what A5 said. I meant that if no one staffs OP for three weeks prior to his/her PTO, those three weeks on the bench won’t be a big deal.
