Paypal Hello, I've been offered Data engineer /Software Engineer at PayPal, india.
How's the company doing, is it profitable? Bit skeptical about the recent layoffs at PayPal.
Any data engineers at PayPal around? Whats your thoughts, how's the team doing and how would be the growth?
YOE - 5 TC offered : 19 Base +10k RSU (3 years)
TC seems to be a lowball, but that's their budget, no scope of negotiation.

Good culture but no lunch money 🤷🏼♀️
We work fewer hours than Deloitte
Great culture and work life balance
But I repeat: EY doesn't pay for lunch or snacks when traveling.
Ratings are primarily tied to getting your name as "pursuit lead" (only one name can go in there). SMs start collaborating less because they're afraid of people "stealing" their opportunities. Too many SMs on key accounts fighting for limited pool of executive relationships. Multiple PPEDs pushing their own agenda on your campaigns or POV.
Just isn't fun any more and then you ask yourself "Do I want to endure this for the next 5 years to make partner?"
Hope your interview goes well. As with any of the Big 4 there are pros and cons, but I really enjoy the culture - 95% of folks very helpful & accommodating.
I’m not really sure what Deloitte does, but I know EY is leading the charge in building a better working world... be part of the change
Great feedback - thanks, y’all!
Ey has a good culture but is a weak ass consulting firm unless you go to TAS which is really good. But their advisory is crap and their project line is mainly table scraps that D ACN or PWC don’t want
I think that is the story for SM/D everywhere.
Can't wait to get your insight post interview/offer!!
Homegrown partners are really great and mentoring. Con is that when ITA has a bigger stick on a project, it feels like a start-up due to the fact that the ITA practices are still growing.
Great place to work up until senior manager. Then it goes all downhill...
Why is that SM1?
SAP 1, Aw shame. If that’s the biggest concern I guess the rest is pretty good.
@SM1 - Have similar stories from SMs at D as well. Sucks
Says the ubiquitous A> asshole A1 with head in an orifice listening to digestive tract noises. Undeserved arrogance personified - and yes, based on personal experience.
@ A1 - Would agree for the most part... if we win against D or PwC, it’s usually due to the partner’s relationship with client
