Itâs not really a promotion if youâre being paid less...I would only take it if I loved the work/role.
So ask yourself: Would you do more work for less pay?
Yeah what part of it would be a promotion? And if youâre an analyst, does that mean youâd be paid around 75k at Salesforce/Airbnb? Sounds like an entry level job. Iâd consider it if Iâm new to consulting and really hate it and donât wanna stick it out for 1-2 more years
It would be a promotion in the sense that it would have 1.title increase 2. Scope of responsibility increased 3. Directly reporting to member of leadership. In a sense, everything is a step up expect salary
My logic is long term: great brand, 1 more future step until manager. Is this logic flawed? Iâm essentially saying Iâll take 20% less now, but could potentially exit internally or externally for a manager role 2 years down the line for 60% than what Iâm making now
Depends on your current firm. Generally, yes, your logic is flawed. Exit ops with be better from consulting than a tier 2 FAANG, unless youâre at a no name consulting firm now
