FinTech or SaaS…

Which of the two (if any) do you think has better career growth opportunities for sales and business development professionals, in terms of promotion potential and moving to a new company for a better position.

Fintech is an industry and SaaS is a business model

like

Payments >Travel IMO. There should be a lot of growth opportunities in the payments space.

It is hard to say which sector has better career growth opportunities as they are both growing rapidly. However, I would say that SaaS has better promotion potential as it is a newer technology. Sales and business development professionals in FinTech may find it harder to move to a new company for a better position as the industry is more established.

like

Either. Both are really good when it comes to career opportunity and career growth.

Fintech company can also be a SaaS company. I don't think fintech is the only type of SaaS company with potential but there is certainly a lot of opportunity there. Is there a specific company/companies you are looking at?

Yeah I know they interchange, I was trying to avoid naming the companies. The fintech is payments related and the saas is travel related.

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.

The upside is probably capped because top equity partners probably make 1.5 to 2 million here but it is all worth it for the WLB. I only take on what I want to do and I help out other partners only when I feel like it.

Getting the resume all spiffed up and getting interviews together. When do you make the exit? “When you find a job” I know, but…

My company covers in depth results each week, including meetings set/attended, wins, revenue, retention etc. I feel as if evaluating in such depth is detrimental to the psyche, as you never get to “ride the high.” In addition, some weeks are simply slower than others, and it’s not always representative of what the results at the end of the period or quarter will be. Is this not a big deal, and I’m I placing too much importance on it? Or is it beneficial to review results less frequently?
