Recruiter who was a VP. Couldn’t have been a better interview. She ended by asking salary requirements, and she said it was on par with what they were hiring at. She stated next steps would be to bring me in to meet with 3 other people, then went completely MIA. Reached out to the hiring manager and recruiter a week later...then 2 weeks after that...nothing.
I was more upset that they couldn’t at least write back and say hey sorry it’s not a right fit or something. But for everything tk seem great and then ghost completely. I personally think it’s the rudest thing I’ve ever come across in my career.
And not to mention...I worked there earlier on in my career and left on good terms.
Is this a new thing? How do you deal with this?
Happened to me earlier this year. Met with the ECD and had a great convo. Then spoke with two partners in separate phone calls (they’re based in another city). Was told I’d be hearing from the recruiter about next steps soon. Instead I heard nothing. My follow-up emails were ignored
It's so common now, it's going to happen more. I met with seven people at one place and then, poof!
My partner told me a similar story today. Happened to a friend of hers. The woman (account exec) got so annoyed she wrote them an email about how disrespectful it was. They emailed back immediately and apologized
Wow. I’m speaking with C level execs. It’s a small industry so I’m not trying to burn bridges. I’ll likely end up at a competitor, so it’ll hurt when they see me win business from their clients or win awards that they want.
So...like I said it’s a small industry. We should be respectful of each other
Talk to her/his superior and explain how bad it looks to the agency to have a recruiter like that. I’m going to start doing that with shitty recruiters.
Super disrespectful SMH
Well @SVP 1 I’m speaking at a conference in a few weeks and it so happens I’m slotted a few spots after the hiring manager, lol. And I’ll be at a VIP dinner for the speakers where this person will be there as well. Talk about awkward.
It’s so crazy. Why can’t they just send a “thanks but no thanks sorry not sorry” email??!
