So is this your second time interviewing then?
Now you're just like the rest of us.
Anytime I haven't been hired has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Forget about it. It happens to everyone.
Copywriter1, looks like somebody did that in yours, you seem upset. You and humble brag on here can discuss together how to "bounce back" from this injustice. Oh, and OP, you didn't dodge a bullet, they just liked somebody else for the job better, just like you do your selection process for whatever is important to you in your life. Trust me, you'll be just fine
^ who pissed in your potato salad? Get that shit out of here.
You may have dodged a bullet ..
A multitude of factors could've been at play. Just focus on your current work, head up and work on the next opportunity.
Ask them why you didn't get the job so you know what you should adjust for the next one. Also, sometimes it literally just wasn't meant to be. Nothing more to it than that.
You are not finite. Use this to embrace yourself, empower yourself and move forward.
Yes, its disappointing but there is so much opportunity out there it's simply a mindset. Focus on what you want and it will come. As my grandma always says "rejection is protection"
No matter what, people like you, who show up on these threads just to type out some long, asshole response never cease to amaze me, @AAD. Thanks for having my back there, @CW1. And thanks for the words, everyone who didn't leave a shit comment.
I was in this situation recently. It took me a few days to look back and realized I completely bombed my interview and should have taken the entire thing from a whole different approach and perspective. Try to take a step back and critique yourself so you can do better next time! (There will be plenty of next times!)
😔
why are you taking it so hard. Not sure how special you are but not getting the job is pretty normal. If you think about it like this: 100 ppl interviewed and 1 got hired, you share the same position as the other 98 that didn't get the job.
AAD, you're right. Someone did piss in my potato salad. And I suppose it has upset me. Forgive my misguided rage. I'll leave you to it. I think I'll just go get some more potato salad and settle in front of the mirror for a wonderful dinner alone.
@Sup1 - what happened to the other person...er...98 didn't get it, 1 got it, and the other one? 🤔😨
@ strat1 - the OP feeling terrible about it instead of being the 99th that didn't get the job.
@Sup1 ...oh yeah. That was a before-coffee question 😴
Sleep with your CD.
OP, it may not seem that way but I'm doing you a favor. The sooner you toughen up, the better you'll be. Think about your "problem" and if it really is one compared to all the good things you have going on in your life. Be prepared not to be handled with kid gloves by the world. You will receive help and compassion when you truly need it as people are generally kind. In this case, you're whining without realizing it and still kinda defensive according to your last post. Lastly, welcome to a public forum where not everyone who doesn't baby you is an asshole. You should also be careful throwing insults and name calling around. You'll never be the bigger person by doing that. Good luck.
