McKinsey & Company I’ve been working at ZS in technology consulting for healthcare clients for 4.5 years now and looking to transition to either McKinsey or BCG.
I’m looking to connect with people who are working or have interviewed here recently to get guidance on the process and how I can prepare for it.

I work at Fisher as a manager in the Investment Counselor group and happy to offer perspective. The role is very challenging but rewarding. You are a client’s primary contact point. Much of their experience with FI is based on your interactions. You are held to high standards. It’s not for those afraid of very hard work and effort.
But, unlike most “financial advisor” jobs, your only responsibility is client service. There are no sales or quotas (no clue where the previous commenter could have heard that—not at all on target). You’re not responsible for managing portfolios, training associates, or operational tasks. That all goes to specialized teams. You do client relationships—that’s it.
Fisher grows faster than other big firms, has for a long time. That’s probably the biggest challenge for Investment Counselors—continuing to deliver topnotch service that keeps growing.
Comp has competitive base salary and discretionary bonus. Starting salaries seem to be based on industry experience in similar roles. I can’t give advice on what to ask for—that’s really up to you based on your experience and needs / expectations. If you have a number in mind, just be up front about it.
Regardless, total comp is reviewed annually. High performers can see healthy year over year increases. Non-cash benefits are good. Cadillac level Health, dental, and vision insurance premiums for you and family are fully paid for. We have a 50% 401k match to the IRS max and other perks, varying some by office location.
Hope that helps. If you’ve got other questions, I can try to answer them here.
I have an interview for investment counselor. I am one year of experience, and I’ve been killing it at my firm. I am just wanting to transition to a roll where I don’t need to prospect every day in order to have income

I don’t work there but have heard it’s basically boiler room/high stress sales quotas to hit.
