In the same boat as you OP. Feeling like it may be time to throw in the consulting towel. Only glimpses of hope for me are I wont take a project without negotiating some flexibility (eg 2 nights travel per week or off one week on the next). And I’ve found networking is easiest with Deloitte alumns / bschool alumni / family friends rather than in person foreign networking events
Thanks D1, I think one to one networking maybe the key here.
I know this feeling. You can do both to a decent degree. Maybe join in flight festivities after face time in the car or outside. (I've done this a lot.) You can also be more selective with the networking things you do. There are a lot of parents in this business and people will understand a change in priorities.
