Flying with family tomorrow on delta. SO and I got upgraded (only have silver this year). First is 75% empty and there’s no one else on the wait list. Want to also get parents upgraded, but fee is $200+ a person for the fee upgrade. Think they’ll do it for free at the gate, or discounted?

Easy solution, give your parents the upgrade and sit in their economy seats. They probably deserve it if your considering buying it for them to begin with.

Very unlikely but you should definitely try!

They will not, and if they have burned through the upgrade list, those seats will either go out empty or be given to non-revs or standbys.

like

Ok Bhai

+1 to previous suggestions - just buy the upgrade for your parents (my rec) or give them your seats (also works, but it’s nice for the whole fam to be in First).

like

Ask first, if they can provide an upgrade at the gate. If required to pay, do it and keep the family together. They’d enjoy it more if their children are with them

like

TPG is nothing but clickbait

Either give to parents or spend the $200 each. That’s nothing

+1 Probably not. Haven’t seen that happen even before COVID. If this is a short flight, probably not worth it, but if you want to sit together, pay for the upgrade early before other non-revenue passengers (fellow medallions or employees) snap up the seats around you.

It will fill up immediately. It’s probably already filled up

Luggage delay claim question

I used Chase explorer to buy tickets for my vacation and luggages were delayed for a month. Per chase term I am entitled $100 a day for 3 days. But the claim agency chase used has been asking for airlines response, which has not came (2month+ now). I am concerned insurance will use this as an excuse to never compensate. Is there a good way to handle this situation?
TIA

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

I like my job and live in a cool apartment in a cool city. I travel a lot, I have lots of savings, and I can afford virtually anything I want. I set and meet small goals (ex. run a 10k) regularly...
