Bain & Company For all the MBB folks out there, is there an optimal time to apply as an experienced hire? I know hiring can be slow once new campus hires join and onboard since there are a lot of people waiting to be staffed on projects. Outside of that time frame, are there any others that are typically less advantageous? Would be applying to entry level positions if that matters. Thanks in advance!

You've honestly pretty much nailed the cycle. There's also a bit of a slowdown around the major holidays at the end of the year, for obvious reasons. And many firms are slow to restart in the new year after that. Otherwise, avoid the new campus hire wave and you should be fine.

Gotcha, thanks SA1!

Coming from a non-target also adds additional nuances. Feel free to DM me?

M1, student accounts don’t have access to the DM feature. Is there another way to reach you?

Not that i know of, if you want to post your LinkedIn/email or something go for it and I’ll connect.

Alternatively GCC (gamecock consulting club) will have some of the answers your looking for and able to connect you with some MBB alum assuming you get into the org.

Hi! Recently discussed an associate graphic designer role with a recruiter. Is it reasonable to expect an 85k base in NYC? Am I underselling myself? They started with it being a 75-80k budgeted position. What are typical base salaries for someone with 4.5 ttl YOE? Does it matter that 3 YOE was in an adjacent industry?

I’m having my annual review this week. Any advice on how to handle a) job offer b) review?

I am feeling lost in job. So I’ve applied for Accounts payable they offered 40k. I said why not to gain some experience. I didn’t even bother negotiating which I regret.
Fast forward I noticed that I was eventually handed everyone’s workload (AR & imports & duty and check coworker work + AP) Spoke to them about pay increase based on workload. So they raised it to 55k.. but I still feel underpaid based on the amt of work I do. I don’t know what my title or what to put on resume..
