I kind of feel like yes, if you don't attend you will have a harder time staying at the forefront of the minds of leadership and your peers.
Wild concept, but why don’t you just attend the events
Huron 1 - this is what I’m planning to do now moving forward. Thanks!!!
Being present at social events and team on-sites is definitely important to building goodwill with peers and leaders alike. I used to hate attending such events, but with practice you get better at them. I’m actually enjoying going to firm social events now!
I tend to think that yes, this could affect (not heavily) your career progression. Becoming a manager and a leader it's also about your ability to interact with peers and team members and create a trusted relationship with them. Not saying it's only about that, but to me it's an important factor to consider when thinking of a good leader.
It may not have significant impact on career growth at early stages, but you can be certain the c-suite 25 years from now is filled with the people who built the best in person / hybrid connections.
Agreed
I feel the same. So, I attend these events to improve my network
