I joined KGS in feb 2022, we recently got a mail regarding timeline of appraisal and bonus payout from the partner. My reporting manager hasn't yet reached out to me regarding goal setting, not sure if that happens here. Can you pls help me to know what all things we need to do from our end for the appraisal cycle and bonus payout? Since I'm new to this company KPMG KPMG India

Understand the fact that 1 paycheck will essentially go to rent only
It's very possible, but you just have to know how to be responsible with your money. I'm from LA and when I was making $54k as an experienced associate, I had a roommate who worked in consulting, making a lot more than me, and she had like zero savings and was always broke -- she went out a lot, took weekend trips, and bought a lot of random crap that just cluttered up the apartment. When our lease was up and we parted ways, she basically she moved in with another friend into the only place for which she had enough cash to pay the security deposit. Moral of the story is that your salary is meaningless if you don't know how to manage it.
Roommates, lots of them
Mommy and daddy.
@kpmg1 saving 2k a month!!!!?? Wow that's impressive, I've paid off my student loans and only have a car note now and im struggling to save1k a month besides what i put into l 401k
You can survive alright but you would have to make choices that will allow you to survive. I live with roommates. 2 of them. Our house is oldish and definitely needs remodeling but rent is cheap. I also live pretty far from work unlike some people. If not for my plan to pay off student loans I can realistically save 2k a month with 401k
cook your own food, don't party a lot, don't buy stuff which you are not going to use, drink coffee from your office vending machine, "Quit smoking". this help me to survive on a salary of 35k
Seriously...I can barely survive on $55k.
Housing isn't cheap in SFO!! Struggling to make ends meet!!
Honestly I just don't have a lot of needs. I need housing, food, Netflix, and stuff like that. No pets, gfs, or exciting hobbies I need to spend money on. I'm also in tax so I get paid a bit more than auditors if that matters.
Travel clients
Yup! Travel clients!
Live in the outskirts. I don't live in the nicest neighborhood but it's a cheap suburb that's less than half of a studio in the city. You will have to commute more but if you travel it's a non issue..
Live in Harlem
It makes sense but I'm sure requires a lot of self control. Good for you!
