Do all FAANG companies offer a joining bonus?
My final round with Deloitte for UK Tech Consulting Manager position soon. Strangely it’s not a PMD round as it usually is for other Big4/tech consulting firms.
1. Can anyone tell me if they’ve been through the whole process without speaking to PMD? (First round Sr Manager, second Case Interview by a manager and third again by a manager) 2. What is a typical salary to expect? I was asked in screening but kept it vague (e.g can discuss later bla bla). I was hoping 75-80 (ridiculous?)

Hello everyone!
Can anyone please explain the promotion process followed here and specially at LCCI? If there's any minimum criteria like X no of years in a particular level, etc. followed while checking eligibility of an employee?
And also - what's the hike/increment range usually at the time of promotion?
Eli Lilly and Company.
Any leads would be highly helpful.
Thank you!

Idk if I'd call it "lavish". Renting a yacht club in a sleepy town on a Monday morning in the off-season where they serve spa water while we listen to execs chat and then get hot dogs and cheap beer games with a cover cover band seems like a pretty affordable way to "celebrate" 50 years in business. They also scrapped the awards this year, which they usually spend about $70k on. And our once-yearly gift was a water bottle. So...I see no issue in it. But if you'd like to sacrifice your bloated pay (all of our VPs are useless and overpaid), that would certainly have a bigger impact.
When Mullen had their massive USAA layoffs in early 2017 they canceled the holiday party (which always takes place in Jan.). Definitely the right move.
Happy 50th anniversary to you too
@VP OP I have never had to participate in more forced fun than I did at Hill. And goddamn do I hate forced fun.
Also how is it STILL at that yacht club??
@Havas1 I think it’s also about the tone of the party. Why pretend that nothing is going on? Doesn’t really help with morale when you completely ignore the big elephant.
You seem like a fun person, OP.
@CW1 at least address how things are instead of totally lying and pretending all is well. Also what a slap to the face of those we lost. They were good people.
And heaven help you if you don’t go. I skipped it one year when I was there and even though it was due to medical issues, it was “noted."
@SD1 even better forced fun
What do you want? An extra $40 for the food and drinks you consume or a day of fun to try and forget about how shitty it’s been there
This is a silly complaint. You expect everyone who didn’t get let go to be in mourning for a few months?
It definitely wasn't "lavish"
I mean, lay offs are tough, but you can’t suspend everything. It’s all worked into the plan. You still need promotions and raises and office culture. You should just deal with it appropriately. That’s probably key here.
This was from a month ago. Why would you be so deep in the 🎏 bowl?
I agree...feels weird when agencies do this. I get that it’s separate budgets, parties are important for morale, etc. but when you lay off people’s friends it breeds mistrust of management that’s compounded by the “everything is amazing!” denial-go-round that these events require.
If I were management, I’d be up front about having a tough year if you have to do the party
I've always assumed the parties have nothing to do with pleasing employees, they're all about impressing clients. Not saying your feelings aren't justified though.
They aren't saving jobs by not having a party. You are still there why not try to enjoy it? If you can't have a decent time with the co workers you have left maybe you should start looking for a new job.
Money and party planning is often done months in advance. Layoffs are also done looking forward. Meaning projecting out months from actually losing revenue. So it’s more about calendar than anything. While it is poor taste to have a party hours after beloved co-workers depart. Leadership teams look at layoffs as tough business decisions and feel like parties help people rally and cope in a way. Not pleasant anyway you look at it.
I honestly take more issue with the fact that certain people in leadership will punish their teams for not attending than the fact of the party itself.
Better sign than not being able to afford both. Once an attempt at culture goes, you know shit’s bad.
