Which LOB is good for JPMC Bangalore location ?
What does this even mean?!

Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

Pretty standard
It’s not a fixed fee engagement
That is nuts. The partner told you that or manager? On the one hand I would think about doing it to keep things cool in case I wanted to come back. On the other I wouldn’t want to come back to work for a team that acts like this.
OP will get blamed and won’t be hired back if something goes wrong, so still not worth it. And if ethics mean anything to you, you don’t eat time.
This is just wrong from all sides. Never eat time under any circumstance.
SMH
As a younger staff, it really helps to hear our partners saying this stuff.
It sets a good example and reminds us that we're not crazy for wanting to be ethical
But the Talent Link Variance! Oh no!
No wonder why you’re quitting
🤣 someone gets it!
No hours hitting a chargeable code = no working. Chill out and don’t work.
Get it in writing and report it to ethics on your way out. So tired of directors and partners asking people to eat time. It is an epidemic. Someone needs to be fired for even suggesting that to make it clear we have ethical standards at this firm.
Tell the partner on the engagement. They have an obligation to address it
Charge all your time if you’re working on a client. That’s really unacceptable for them to say that for a multitude of reasons.
Are you still going to be doing chargeable work?
We had someone quit last year and they straight up removed all his billables for the whole engagement lmao
I would totally not work...
Going to do my hardest to slide by but there’s definitely some things I can’t get out of. Whatever still charging my time!
Don't work on that engagement then.
I’ve seen this happen with one partner every time someone would quit, she would ask them not to charge their time. Such a bad example, and you should tell HR you were asked to do so.
Yup. No charge, then no work. Can’t have it both ways.
tell em to write your time off then
Do they put up an accrual for the bad hours at YE?
I agree with not eating time. Years of this have made for totally unrealistic budgets. On the other hand I’ve had people beat the shit out of the code in the last two weeks and do nothing of value. Always charge hours work and work hours charged.
I’d book 15 hours a day to that code out of spite
So you don’t have to work ?
On the other hand, charge eight hours a day and destroy their code
What’s your incentive to bill your time though? Just to hurt the code? Could help out a manager who is already over budget. Obviously not a good long run process for a firm. I just wouldn’t get worked up about it
The “incentive” should be to do the right thing - it’s part of the firm's code of ethics. When people eat time it just creates a vicious cycle because next year’s budget won’t be realistic. If there are legitimate reasons for an engagement being over budget you take away the opportunity for it to be addressed and fixed when eating time. You also take away the partner’s ability to bill that time if it’s out of scope work, etc.
Most people check out mentally once they’ve given their notice, so maybe they think you’ll just be charging time and not actually working, making the budget unrealistic for next year? Although most people only stay for a few days after they’ve given their 2 weeks notice..
And your still working? Thats crazy.
I will do what is expected of me. But I will 100% be charging that time. If they want to reclassify my time once I’m gone, then they can. But that’s on them.
