Geez, things are really starting to get rough out there. I just saw that 7/11 is closing almost 700 stores. That means the economy is so rough that even gas stations can't stay open. Anyone else worried?

Oh wow, well there's more electric cars now. Plus, more people, are looking for healthier, food options.

Yeah... crazy but 7-11 has been closing stores slowly for several years now!!

Your right I’ve seen it

I saw this too. It’s pretty wild because 7/11 always had great deals.

like

No that means there is that much competition. 7/11 is like shopping at my grandma’s house!! Pizza sucks!!

funny

7/ 11 is all you see in Thailand very 2 block and service stations off their hwy. Booming there. I am believing it want to concentrate its business in those Asian countries, so cant spread themselves to thin so closing more for bigger profits in other countries.

like

I think it might be because Wawa and Sheetz and the like are taking over. 7/11s in central Virginia are almost non existent outside of the rough areas

It’s to be expected with costs increasing.

I think it's more a business decision and having too many locations. They don't just operate in the USA.

I lived out west where 7-11 dominated the markets.
I live in the Midwest again and there are very few 7-11.
Personally, give me a Kwik Trip over 7-11 anyway. They were overpriced and simply grew and expanded too far.
They had 2 across the street from each other many times.
Plus, with hybrid and electric cars and rampant crime at these stores all over, I am sure they are closing due to lower market analysis scores.

Thinking of switching employers. Do you think bigger retail stores (the ones that have several locations) are easier or harder to work at than little hole-in-the-wall grocery stores (which is all I've ever done)? It seems like the larger chain stores would have more downtime, but I'm wondering if anyone could give some input.
